The Devas of Creation can be used as for meditation, for insight into our habitual patterns; to release blocks; for healing and therapeutic understanding; and as part of creative expression. But more than that, they can be used to foster a direct connection with the Divine Source in its myriad manifestions.

The images are intended to be a doorway into Consciousness – that deeper, wider Self that yearns for connection and meaning. Looking up at the sky laced with the most delicate of clouds on a perfect autumn morning; or down into the fronds of a fern or the mystery of life in a new-born’s eyes, we feel that connection which begins and ends with love. Too often, though, in our day-to-day lives we find it more difficult. The Deva cards help to remind us of that love, of the different planes of existence, of the whole enormity of creation. I believe they are also part of the next major shift in evolution lies before us (the globally connected Mind?).

Suggestions on how to work with the cards:

There is no 'wrong' way to use the Devas of Creation; they can be viewed from any angle, and in any order; you can read from them using traditional tarot spreads, or pull a card every morning as a focus for the day ahead; use them in conjunction with other decks, or as you might an angel pack.
Using them in conjunction with affirmations can help you get rid of negative energy patterns in your life;
giving you guidance from your subconscious or Higher Self. You may want to relate to them through color alone, through the visceral reaction of your body, through your mind - mind-mapping the mental associations to problem-solve; or through your soul, allowing the images to flow through your intuition, perhaps building stories or expressing their meaning in some creative way, or even working with the shadow that the card brings up in you, until you feel complete.

For personal feedback and meditation: Take a card and journey into it over 2-3 days, without any preconceived ideas about what it ‘means’, allowing your body and mind to react to it without words. Meditate with the card, put it under your pillow at night, and allow yourself to travel freely into the universe that opens up to you.

Using the cards to connect with Divinity: To make a personal connection through the cards to the Devas around you, choose a card and as you look at it, meditate on the emanations flowing out of the Divine Source as It created this unique Deva. See the emanations that would flow back up to Divinity, and the holographic reflections of the Deva that would manifest outward from it. Breathe deeply and see where the energy of the card manifests in your body, or perhaps how it will be changing your aura and the energy flows in your body.

________________________________

How the cards were created: The images were produced mainly on A4 card, usually in acrylics, although a few are oil pastel, spraypaint, or watercolour. After scanning some of the images were re-imaged in Photoshop, through filters or colour alterations - Atom, Growth and Decay, and Night Bird, for example.

MULTI-DIMENSIONAL TEACHERS

Tom Kenyon and the Hathors. Tom Kenyon is a teacher, scientist and sound healer working in the US. He channels the Hathors, multi-dimensional beings whose wisdom has been a source of guidance for many for some years. The latest message from the Hathors is that we are moving from fourth dimensional consciousness to fifth dimensional reality - with all the perils and chaos this entails - not helped by the 'terrestrial powers' on earth or, indeed, in the wider universe, which they see as a tug of war for the human spirit (and presumably for the other beings on earth, as we are not the only creatures blessed with spiritual awareness).

Dr Michael Sharp. His ebook The Great Awakening (Concepts and Techniques for Successful Spiritual Practice) and the Book of Light are available free on his website together with some beautiful artwork. Other books, in particular the Song of Creation have much in common with the Devas. are available to buy. The books are beautiful and the poetry too - some may prefer his more optimistic outlook.

The Divine Cosmos. David Wilcock's website and Project Camelot has a seminar on the 'Science of Peace' and Field of Consciousness. Three free Convergence books are available on the site and there are some great graphics, too. Star of the site, however, is the 101-minute video on Youtube to 'discuss the state of the world and the cosmos' in the light of 2012. 'We are being pushed to the next level of our evolution' through the catalyst of difficult situations - the Shadow.

Breaking Open the Head. Daniel Pinchbeck's shamanic site (and if you're interested in shamanic wisdom, have a look at the book 'The Cosmic Serpent', by Jeremy Narby). The indigenous shamans have access to wisdom that we in the west have only recently discovered - the spiral of life (DNA) for example, and all plant remedies which we have barely begun to understand. This wisdom was taught them by the plants themselves, in ayahuascan journeys).

The Awakening. A source of Mayan wisdom. A lovely site, all the better for giving a very different viewpoint.

Devas, Nature Spirits and Angels. A couple of websites about the Devas themselves, as well as other beings such as Dragons, body elementals and other elementals.

Coven of Cythrawl - Nature devas, Elementals, Nature Spirits. It links to Wicca and witchcraft information as well as druidry.

William R. Mistele - Some of the most beautiful meditations I've ever read, on the elementals and Devas.

About Cilla Conway

Cilla Conway was born in Holland and brought up in Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia), and that country's depth and potency still influences her art. She took a graphic design course in Natal, South Africa, and in 1971 emigrated to Britain. She currently live in London.

She first became aware of the Devas in 1987 when she began painting large intuitive oils (shown here). The beings which appeared in these works felt immense, as if they inhabited more than one dimension. After seven years, to her sorrow, the creative energy died down; but in 2002 at a talk on angels, she was offered the realisation that she could now produce a set of images that reflect the enormous power and magnitude of these beings.

As she painted, a whole cosmology took shape, which - condensed into a mere seventy-two images! - can only be a minute fraction of the variety, beauty and wonder of the cosmos and the Divine Mind that created it. But they may encourage you to look up at the stars, or down at the earth beneath your feet, and think of the invisible beings that form All That Is. If they do, they will have served their purpose.
